Description:
Learn to put a hole in a rock. These skills are transferable to glass, ceramic and shell.
You will learn to use the drill press, as well as hanging mill to put a hole in thin, as well as thick stones.
Differences between bits and burrs will be discussed, as well as a deeper discussion on various types of drill bits, from deep drill bits, to core and solid stem bits.
How to drill tiny stones, as well as prevention of “blowout” and “Surface walking” will be discussed as a few of the topics addressed in overall craftsmanship.
Who’s This Course For:
Meant to teach skills and techniques for those that want to invest long term into the hobby or trade.

Materials Required:
All materials will be provided for the course, however these will merely be simple practice pieces. If you wish to drill nicer stones, please bring your own, or stop in at Rubble Rock before the course commences.
