1. Acknowledgment of Risks
I, the Participant or Renter, acknowledge and understand that participation in activities at Rubble Studios, whether as a student in a class, workshop, or training session, or as a private renter, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- General Risks: Risk of slips, falls, or other physical injuries due to studio conditions or participant actions.
- Tools & Equipment: Exposure to sharp tools, saws, torches, and other potentially hazardous equipment.
- Rotating Machinery Hazards: Risks associated with polishing wheels, rotary burrs, drills, saws, and other powered tools, including potential injury from loose clothing, hair, or jewelry getting caught.
- Material Handling Risks: Risk of burns, cuts, abrasions, eye injuries, or allergic reactions from working with metals, chemicals, or other materials.
- Other Participants & Unsupervised Use: Risk of injury due to the actions of other individuals, whether in a class or private rental setting.
I understand that these risks may result in serious injury, disability, or even death, and I voluntarily choose to participate despite these risks.
2. Scope of Waiver
This waiver applies to all individuals participating in activities at Rubble Studios, including:
- Students enrolled in classes, workshops, or training sessions.
- Individuals or groups renting the studio for private use, whether for meetings or hands-on activities.
- Any guests or attendees brought into the studio by the renter.
If I am renting the studio, I acknowledge that I am responsible for ensuring my guests comply with studio rules and safety guidelines.
3. Assumption of Risk
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in Rubble Studios activities, including the use of machinery, tools, and equipment, whether supervised or unsupervised.
I acknowledge that I have been informed of necessary safety precautions, including:
- Proper use of tools and equipment.
- The requirement to wear appropriate attire (e.g., avoiding loose clothing, tying back long hair, and removing dangling jewelry).
- Safe handling of materials such as chemicals, metals, and stones.
If I am a private renter, I acknowledge that:
- I am responsible for ensuring that all individuals in my group understand and follow studio safety rules.
- If I or my guests choose to use any studio tools, equipment, or machinery, we assume all associated risks.
- Rubble Studios staff may not be present during my rental, and I accept full responsibility for the safety of my group.
4. Release of Liability and Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby waive, release, and discharge Rubble Studios, Rubble Rock and Gem Ltd., its owners, employees, instructors, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from injury, death, or property damage sustained as a result of my participation in studio activities, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rubble Studios from any claims, damages, or legal expenses resulting from my actions, the actions of my guests, or failure to follow safety guidelines.
5. Medical Treatment Authorization
In the event of injury or illness during my participation, I authorize Rubble Studios to seek medical treatment on my behalf. I understand that I am responsible for any costs associated with such medical care.
6. Photography & Media Release (Optional)
I give Rubble Studios permission to use photographs, videos, or other media of me (or my group, if renting the studio) participating in studio activities for promotional or educational purposes. (Check one below):
