Learn how to drill clean, precise holes in stone—a skill that also applies to glass, ceramic, and shell.
This course covers the use of both a drill press and a hanging mill to create holes in stones of varying thicknesses. You’ll explore the differences between bits and burrs, along with an in-depth look at various drill bit types, including deep drill bits, core bits, and solid stem bits.
Key techniques will include drilling tiny stones, preventing blowout, and avoiding surface walking, ensuring a professional finish and greater control over your craftsmanship.
Who’s This Course For:
Meant to teach skills and techniques for those that want to invest long term into the hobby or trade.

Materials Required:
All materials will be provided for the course, however these will merely be simple practice pieces. If you wish to drill nicer stones, please bring your own, or stop in at Rubble Rock before the course commences.
