Description:
Learn to set a cabochon in a precious metal frame, bound with fine metal thread. The process of wire wrapping uses minimal tools, weaving and binding metal in cold connection techniques. You will make a Pendant in this course, learning how to cinch a stone in place and create a bail to suspend the stone from. This course is meant to take beginners away from the “Champagne bottle top” style of wrapping, and lay the foundations to understand fine weaving and binding patterns.
This course requires good vision and dexterous hand work, those with arthritis need be aware that it will be taxing on your fingers.

Consumables required: Cabochon, please do not bring tumbled or rough stones to this class, a cabochon (of any shape) with a girdle is required. Please choose one approximately 25mm in diameter
Precious metal thread: Copper, brass, sterling silver or gold filled 30 gauge dead soft or soft. round. 10 feet
Precious metal frame wire: copper, brass, sterling silver or gold filled. 18 gauge. round. Soft
*Please make sure the two wire types above are different metal types.
